Sarka Zahrobska second in Kranjska Gora

January 8th, 2007

For Head-Tyrolia skier Sarka Zahrobska from the Czech Republic the season really gets going. After her first place on the podium at the night slalom in Zagreb-Sljeme she could even reach the second position in Kranjska Gora (SLO) three days later and convinced with constant performances at both runs. So she was able to establish among the world´s top skiers.

At the first run already it turned out that Zahrobska isn´t only in a good shape at the moment but she has also gained a lot of self-confidence on the slalom slope. At full risk she skied around the poles on the difficult slope. As there was a lack of snow in the actual host village Maribor, without further ado the women moved to the men´s slope in Kranjska Gora within Slovenia. On the difficult Podkoren-slope it took a lot of risk, good equipment and a perfect technic to succeed. All of that was shown by Zahrobska and she left the first run with the second best time.

In the final run the Head-Tyrolia racer had to resist the pressure. And that was managed well by the Czech: Again she showed an almost flawless run and scored the second best time. So she achieved the best result of her career so far and climbed on position five at the slalom ranking within reach for the second place. The slalom ladies can take a longer break now. First at the World Championships in Aare (SWE) another slalom is on the agenda. The next race will take place in Altenmarkt-Zauchensee (AUT). There a super G, a downhill and a super combined competition will get started on january 12th to 14th.
