In Val Gardena, Head racer Johann Grugger won his third Super-G of the Olympic season. The Austrian skier beat out all of the favorites.
Grugger Fastest in Lower Section
Johann Grugger went into the race wearing start number 14; he required 1:37.35 minutes for the Saslong. He delivered a strong performance, particularly in the lower section of the course. His equipment from Head was the fastest there. All of the following skiers found his time to be a hard nut to crack, and Grugger then celebrated his first victory of the season.
Third World Cup Win for Grugger
With his victory, Grugger moved up to third place in the Super-G World Cup standings at 133 points and also advanced to be a winning skier in the second speed discipline. Grugger won two downhill events last season in Chamonix and Bormio.
