The new addition to the Head Racing Team Elisabeth Görgl showed her top class ability in the Giant Slalom on the slopes of Maribor in Slovakia. The Austrian was able to take the skill and technique that she has accuirred from previous World Cup events to come out victorious for the first time in her very noteable World Cup Career.
The ground work for victory was laid in the Head Athletes first run
In unfavorable conditions, the Austrian performed exceptionally, posting the fastest time of the day over all others in the field by a half second in the first run. In the final run she had a strong performance as well and her victory was never in doubt.
Görgl said, that she is happy with the result, and the fact she is taking the right line. The Austrian is looking forward to continuing her consistant performance in the future. At the end the Head Racer posted a time of 2:38.49 that claimed victory. This top finish has given her the position of second place on the Overall World Cup Giant Slalom Standings.
