Warm temperatures in the days before the race and snowfall in the night of 6th of march made it difficult for the crew to prepare the piste leaving catchy conditions for the competitors. Despite the conditions getting worse and worse, HEAD racer Görgl raced aggressively to fourth place in the first run, assuring a good perspective for the final.
Ribs and bumbs on the course made it tough for the favorites in the second run, but Görgl prooved her impressive sensitivity on the skis and showed the best race of the top riders. In the concluding scarp she carved with an instinctive sureness and scored second place. Thanks to this performance Görgl moved to third place in the Giant Slalom standings.
