Kjetil Jansrud is joining HEAD

April 22nd, 2010

The HEAD Racing Team is growing ever stronger. Following Aksel Lund Svindal and Werner Heel, Kjetil Jansrud is also joining the HEAD Racing Team. The Norwegian athlete signed a two-year contract until 2012 and will use skis, bindings and ski boots from Kennelbach during this period.

“In the end it all happened very quickly”, said Kjetil Jansrud who is happy about his decision to change his equipment supplier. “The tests worked out really well. I hope to be skiing at a similar level as Aksel Lund Svindal in the future – and HEAD can see this potential in me. It is my goal to push the other disciplines in order to reach the same level there as in giant slalom."

Kjetil Jansrud was one of the past season’s rising stars. In three World Cup races, the 24-year old reached a podium result in his special discipline, the giant slalom. With his win of the Olympic silver medal in Vancouver (CAN), the Norwegian skier established a strong position amongst the world’s elite. However, he is still waiting for his first victory. “Kjetil is a young athlete with enormous potential”, says Rainer Salzgeber - director of the HEAD Race Department - praising the new member on the team. “We are convinced that he is going to become an established member of the racing scene. And he shares our vision. He is perfect for our team.”

“Kjetil has phenomenal potential as an allround racer.” explains HEAD CEO Johan Eliasch. On the HEAD Racing Team Jansrud will meet up with fellow racers Didier Cuche and Bode Miller, the new team members Heel and Svindal, and other racers.
