PREMIUM DC 2013, "Underwater No1" - KÖLN

June 21st, 2013

Premium DC 2013 continue with Diving Center "Underwater No1".
Keep in touch in the next days we will insert other questions in order to know this amazing DC.

Question10: What is the strongest argument for your DC to convince me as customer to dive at your DC?

Well, we are sure we can convince you by diving with us that lakes in Germany do not need to be cold, dark and with low viz! There is a beautiful fauna and flora just around the corner in one of the most dense area´s of Germany. Whoever dives with us local or at our dive trips around the world will be full of beautiful moments and memories we share together. So just come and join us. There is a good reason why we named “Underwater No. 1”….

Question9: What else can be done/seen at your place. Are there other sport/culture activities to see/attend and could I come with family and/or kids?

Our dive spots and locations are quite family orientated. There are few adventure playgrounds for kids right on the lake. Beachvolley, soccer and various other sporting activities can be exercised on the site. For the one´s that like it a bit less sporty the numerous beer gardens invite to have a good time for the classical “after-dive” activity. Some even do there “Second decompression period” quite long there….;-)
For the night live however Cologne is as Berlin, Düsseldorf and other major cities in Germany quite famous – So just come and experience it. You will love it! And we guarantee you will be not the only diver at the bar tender since the city is full of people that do dive.

Question8: What is the best time to come to go diving at your place?

The best time to dive with us is from May to October, while in our Indoor pool diving is a great experience all year long.

Question7: What kind of breathing gas is used on your DC and what is available as safety/back-up infrastructure at your DC or nearby?

We supply normal air as well nitrox up to 40%. On each dive we do have first response equipment with us like pure oxygen or else to provide first aid if needed. A decompression chamber can be reached within maximum an hour car drive depending on the dive site we go.

Question6: How does your staff looks like? Are there instructors that speak different languages? Can they deal also with kids or disabled persons? Can I do some training specialties during my dives?

We are a team of 10 Instructor and 4 Divemaster and train diving in German, English and Dutch language. For the diving career segment we train up to Staff Instructor.
In addition to open circuit diving we train also divers on the Poseidon MK6 rebreather up to Instructor level.

Question5:How does your DC look like and how many equipment sets do you have? Do I need to bring my own equipment or can I rent equipment at the DC?

We do have 15 sets of high-end rental equipment. As far as masks, fins, snorkels and gloves are concerned we ask customers to bring their own since we consider this as the minimum equipment to have as a diver. If needed it can be however provided as well.

Question4: What kind of boats, cars or other kind of transportation do you use to get divers to the dive sites?

Either our customers arrive individual at the „Fühlinger See“ by car or we transport them with our own cars from the shop to the lake. At the lake itself there is no boat needed since the dive sites can be reached by car and accessed from the shore line.

Question3: Which dive sites you go to and how are the dives there?

Just about 10 minutes by car away there is our main dive site located which is called “Fühlinger See”. There is a huge variety of sweet water fishes to be found such as Schuppenkarpfen, Hechte, Flussbarsche, Sonnenbarsche, Aale, Störe, Welse, Aalmutter, Flusskrebse und Rotfedern.
We dive in relatively shallow waters around 10 meters since this is the range where most of the beautiful fauna and flora can be found. Diving is like all year long except of heavy ice conditions during winter.
Beside that we do provide numerous guided travels to the world’s finest dive destinations. Just ask for our program related to your agenda or desired dive destination. We are sure that we can offer something that fits your budget and dive dreams.

Question2:How I can get to your DC and are there special things to organize like Visa or permissions to dive at your place?

Cologne has an excellent infrastructure when it comes to travel. Having its own airport with national and international flights, a well connected train network to get into Cologne as well to get around makes travelling in and around Cologne easy. Being one of the major cities in Germany the highway connection is at its best so that travel by car or bus is perfect too. Since we are located in Germany and therefore in the European Community travel permissions like Visa´s or else are for most visitors not even needed.

Question1: Where is your Dive Center located and what is so special about it?

Our Dive Center is just right in the “heart of Cologne “ at the city center. In the shop we run a pool with about 200 square meter that has up to 4 meter depth. There our customers can test right away products and get trained in pool sessions for the diving courses they attend. This is a quite unique set-up where divers have an extreme convenient option to check out product features and functions prior to buying a product.
