
HEAD players enjoyed great success recently at the Pen Pilot Open. Agustin Calleri of Argentina advanced to the final round while both Robin Söderling of Sweden and Svetlana Kuznetsova of Russia advanced to the semifinal round last week in New Haven, Connecticut.
Calleri was defeated by Russian Nikolay Davydenko 6-4, 6-3 in advance of this week’s U.S. Open. The Argentinian plays the legend - Flexpoint Prestige MID, the racquet for ultimate touch and great feel. Davydenko’s win solidified his 8th career title and the 2nd this year, at the ATP Series tournament.
Söderling was defeated by Nikolay Davydenko of Russia. Davydenko went on to win the tournament, claiming his 8th career title, the 2nd this year, at the ATP Series tournament. Söderling plays with a LM Radical MP, the racquet for superior power and control. To advance to the semifinals, he defeated Sam Querrey, Marcos Baghdatis and Jurgen Melzer.
Kuznetsova of Russia was defeated by Justine Henin-Hardenne of Belgium, who won the tournament, her 5th tour title of the season. Kuznetsova plays with the young-generation power racquet Flexpoint Instinct. On her way to the semifinal round she defeated Jill Craybas, Tatiana Golovin and Elena Dementieva.
