HEAD Signs Olympic Badminton Medalist Zhou Mi

HEAD announced that the company has signed an agreement with badminton Olympic bronze medalist Zhou Mi of Hong Kong. The partnership begins immediately and will continue through March 2009.

Mi is already enjoying success after returning from a year-long injury. In addition to winning her first tournament played since returning to badminton, the former World No. 1 captured the women’s singles title at the 2007 KLRC New Zealand Open, after an important semifinal win against World No. 7 Pi Hongyan.

“After the Olympics I had a big break with injury .I'm so happy to win, it will help me fight my way back up the rankings," Mi said.

Besides her success at the Olympic Games in 2004 and the Badminton World Championships in 2003, Mi has achieved victory at most of the famous badminton tournaments, including the 2003 All England Open, the 2003 Malaysian Open and the 2003 China Open.

Mi began her career playing for the Chinese National team and switched to Hong Kong in April 2007.
