July 20th, 2009

HEAD players Robin Soderling and Jeremy Chardy dominated on court with their new YOUTEK™ Radical racquets to take home the titles at recent ATP tournaments in Bastad and Stuttgart.

World No. 11 Robin Soderling, who plays with a YOUTEK™ Radical MP, earned his fourth ATP World Tour title by defeating Juan Monaco 6-3, 7-6(4) in front of his home crowd at the Catella Swedish Open in Bastad. Soderling did not drop a single set on his way to his victory.

“It is a dream come true to win this tournament,” said Soderling. “It’s very big to win a title in Sweden and I have always dreamt of winning this title.”

HEAD player Jeremy Chardy captured his first ATP World Tour title at the Mercedes Cup in Stuttgart after besting No. 4 seed and fellow HEAD player Victor Hanescu in a close match 1-6, 6-3, 6-4. Hanescu also reached the men’s doubles final.

“It was a tough match,” said Chardy. “I was very nervous at the start and in the second set I started to play my game. In the third set, I had two service breaks but found it difficult to close out.”

Chardy, who also plays with a YOUTEK™ Radical MP, moved to a career-high No. 32 in the South African Aiways 2009 ATP Rankings.
