Speed triumph for HEAD at Alpine World Cup Final

March 15th, 2007

One day after Head racer Didier Cuche won the small crystal globe in downhill, his brand mate Bode Miller secured the World Cup super G title, making Head the best speed team of the winter 2006/2007.

In the last speed race of the season the Head-Tyrolia racers finished with great results once more. At the super G in Lenzerheide Bode Miller and Marco Buechel both missed the podium by only four hundredths of a second and were tied for fourth. For Miller this was sufficient to secure himself the small crystal globe for the super G World Cup. Didier Cuche came in sixth right behind Miller and Buechel and advanced to second place in the SG ranking.

With this new victory Head asserted itself as the strongest brand in the speed disciplines. In downhill and super G two Head racers are in the top two positions. Didier Cuche and Marco Buechel in downhill and Bode Miller and again Didier Cuche in super G left the opponents behind and raced to victories with their great equipment. Together with Hans Grugger the Head racers collected seven victories and 16 places on the podium - an impressive result. In addition Patrick Staudacher won the super G title at the FIS World Ski Championships in Are, crowning an excellent season for the Head racing team. The most successful racers during the season get their deserved earning now in Lenzerheide: Didier Cuche and Bode Miller take home the precious small crystal globes.
