With two very fast runs at the Giant Slalom in Sölden, Didier Cuche confirmed his ambitions to win the Overall World Cup. Featuring one of the most challenging hillsides in the World Cup, the swiss racer was clocked on the Rettenbach glacier with the third fastest time in the first heat. Even in the technical extremely challenging scarp, the old hand did not show any weak point.
In a thrilling final Cuche kept his head. Finding a powerful line with extreme tension on the edges he carved perfect through all the difficulties. Although fourteen hundredths of a second were missing for the victory, the Head-Racer and two time winner of the Downhill-World Cup in the last two seasons, proved his claim on the big Crystal Ball this year. The next race will take place November 16th, in Levi Finnland.
