First podium for Fenninger at Cortina

January 26th, 2009

For the first time in her young career Anna Fenninger finished under the top three. The young HEAD athlete finished on brilliant second place in the Super-G at Cortina d’Ampezzo.

With starting number five on to the podium
While the sun was shining and conditions were great Anna Fenninger started with number five into the race on the “Tofana“ course. On the former Olympic slope the HEAD pilot did not show any respect and marked with 1:25,94 minutes at first the minimum time. There was only one competitor to beat Fenninger's time, so the 19-year old shooting star jumped on to the World Cup podium for the first time in her fresh career.

Ready for the World Championships
With this second place finish in Cortina Anna Fenninger achieved the criteria of the Austrian Ski Federation and is now a fix starter for the World Championships in Val d’Isère (FRA) starting next Tuesday. Keeping her great shape the HEAD racer might be ready for another surprise.
