Shortened downhill course
Travelling to Åre, slalom World Champion and World Cup winner Maria Riesch tried her best although knowing that she couldn’t win much in the last Downhill of the year. Being weakened by a flu last week and with her luggage coming late to Sweden, signs weren’t that good for Riesch. Further visibility was bad and the course was shortened.
Season’s best result in the downhill
Ignoring all hassle, Riesch raced with a lot of self-confidence and showed an almost perfect run. Her great performance was rewarded: Scoring 1:42.89 minutes, she finished second and celebrated her best downhill result of the season.
