First podium finish for Fanny Chmelar

March 13th, 2009

Chmelar from 11th up to second place

In the first run Fanny Chmelar finished 11th. Speeding up in the final the 23-year old German marked the top score in. This made her gain 9 positions and so Chmelar celebrated her first World Cup podium ever. Scoring a time of 1:49.29 the HEAD pilot showed a fantastic performance and missed the victory by only six hundredths of the second.

Small Crystal Globe for Riesch

Riesch’s victory in the discipline's World Cup was already fixed before this last Slalom of the season 2008/09. Even when the HEAD racer dropped from second place after the first run to fifth place, the Slalom World Champion was constantly part of the top athletes during the entire winter, finishing every single one of the nine races. While her worst result was sixth place at Aspen (USA) Riesch was the clear winner of the small Crystal Globe.

Double victory thanks to Zahrobska

Finishing third in the final Slalom of the season, Sarka Zahrobska moved up to second place in the overall Slalom standings. This makes the HEAD team celebrate a "double victory" in this discipline.

The final race of the year for our girls is the Giant Slalom taking place on Saturday
