Bode says he's still undecided
Bode Miller, America's most successful World Cup ski racer, says he's been misrepresented by the press. … again.
In his diary at UniversalSports.com, Miller indicates he has not made up his mind about racing World Cup this coming season. This is contrary to reports which circulated around Europe a month ago quoting his ski company race director.
"The quote from Rainer Salzgeber (Head Race Director) saying I said I plan to continue skiing seems like an incomplete quote," Miller writes. "In my experience, reporters make up quotes; they can get away with it because there's nothing you can do about it except just get mad at them. I'm sure the article was read by a lot of people and that's what they are after."
Miller continued, saying he was "not very happy" being around the World Cup or Olympic scene. "I'm just not happy when I'm there. I need some time away, which I have this summer."
He said he would definitely ski "somewhere" next season, but still had not made up his mind about the World Cup for the 2010 season.
He said he was in New Hampshire visiting family and friends, would travel to Austin to work on his house and spend time in San Diego to visit his daughter Dacey. He also said he has golf appearances on his schedule.
