Biography

Luca is a freestyle skier born and raised in Ebertswil, Switzerland. He competed professionally for almost a decade and first tasted success at a young age, entering his first Slopestyle World Cup at 15. He was selected to represent Switzerland at the Sochi Winter Olympics 2014 in Slopestyle and won the Junior World Ski Championships in 2015. That season he also reached the World Cup podium, taking third in Slopestyle at Silvaplana in Switzerland. In 2016, his skills in the Big Air category landed him on the World Cup podium again, with silver in Chile and bronze in Germany. That year he was the youngest Big Air competitor at the X Games and more recently he placed third in Big Air at the 2020 European Cup in Davos. Over the years Luca has competed at 33 World Cups and secured a world first with his triple cork 1080 at the Frostgun Invitational in Val d'Isère. In 2022 he decided to retire from competitions but his freestyle career remains an inspiration for the ski community.
