Biography

"I want to continue getting better" With the Silver medal in the Combined event and the Bronze medal in the Slalom at the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing, Wendy Holdener extended her Olympic tally to a total of five medals. Previously, she was Olympic Champion in the 2018 Team event and won Silver in the 2018 Slalom and Bronze in the 2018 Combined event. Holdener competed in her first World Cup race at the age of 17 and stood on the podium for the first time when she was 19. Since then, the Swiss athlete from Unteriberg just south of Zurich has been collecting accolades one after the other. These include the World Championship titles in the Combined event in 2017 and 2019, the World Championship title in the Team event in 2019, World Championship Silver in the Slalom in 2017 and two Crystal Globes in the Combined in 2016 and 2018. Nevertheless, the Swiss athlete says: "My most important goal remains the same: I want to continue getting better so I can ski even faster around the gates." Skiing is also her favourite hobby. And she especially enjoys meeting with her family and friends.
