Rocky Carson, top ranked IRT professional, made racquetball history this past season by becoming the first player ever to win the National Doubles, National Singles, and Outdoor National titles all in the same season. This unbelievable accomplishment was even more impressive given the quality of competition he had to face to capture these crowns.
The historic run started in October of 2005 when he teamed up with Jack Huczek to defeat Jason Thoerner and Mitch Williams in the finals of the National Doubles. At the end of the season he captured his third National Singles title by upsetting top seeded Jack Huczek in the finals. To complete the trifecta, Carson bested legendary Cliff Swain in the finals of the Outdoor Nationals. At a recent reception hosted by HEAD/Penn in honor of Carson’s incredible feat, Rocky stated “it was a great season for me and one I hope to be able to repeat in future years. I give all credit to God for giving me the gift to play this great sport at a high level. It also helps to be playing with the best racquetball equipment on earth. Me and my HEAD racquet have become very, very good friends!”.
