Team HEAD’s Thoerner and Ruiz win World Doubles Championships

Jason Thoerner and Aimee Ruiz separately captured World Racquetball Titles at the 2008 International Racquetball Federation’s (IRF) World Racquetball Championships. Both Thoerner and Ruiz are members of HEAD’s Pro Staff and their respective wins helped pace the United States to the Men’s and Women’s World Team Championships.

Ruiz (Stirling, N.J.) and her partner won the 2008 Women’s Doubles World Championship over their opponents from Canada 15-8, 15-6. In addition to their win in Ireland, Ruiz and her partner also captured the Women’s Doubles title at the 2008 Pan American Championships in March.

In the Men’s Doubles competition, Team HEAD’s Jason Thoerner and his partner defeated the team from Mexico 15-13, 10-15, 11-7 to win the 2008 World Championship.

Also on the United States’ team at the World Championship was Team HEAD’s Jack Huczek (Rochester, Mich.) who finished second in the Men’s Singles event.
