In today’s skiing world, everybody always talks about specialized performance. Splitseconds in alpine. Awesome focus in Freeskiing. Pure, no-compromise philosophy in Freeriding. Sometimes it seems like everyone is participating in their very own sport. As one of the leading brands in skiing, HEAD decided it’s time to break things up a little. Time to bring extremes together. Time to cross-pollinate.
Of course, HEAD is proud of their World Cup Rebels who again were the most successful team on the FIS World Cup tour. HEAD is also proud of the feats of their freeski and freeride legends and rookies. On all levels, HEAD is in pole position for another extremely successful season.
This winter HEAD World Cup Rebels and Freeriders unite. HEAD supports the fact that their freeski ace Jon Olsson is now competing in alpine disciplines. That Aksel Lund Svindal and Ted Ligety regularly show their rebel attitudes in the backcountry. This season HEAD even make it the topic of their campaign.
Can Didier Cuche stick a 360?
Skiers United is not only a philosophy – the spirit of the brand bringing HEAD athletes together as a team. Skiers United is a program, where HEAD actually brings together top World Cup racers and top Freeskiers to challenge each other on the mountain.
Proudly presenting the first of a handful of Skiers United webisodes: Jon Olsson teaching Didier Cuche how to do a 360. Can he do it? In how many attempts? – In three-week-intervals, more challenges will follow, all the way up to christmas.
Tune in on facebook.com/headski
Of course, there’s also something in it for you and me: Teaming up with a racer (if you’re a freerider) or with a freerider (if you’re a racer) on facebook, and you get the chance to win a speed/freeride combination set of skis.
Also, HEAD encourages skiers all over the world to upload their own Skiers United episodes. We do look forward to some clean, crossover fun!
