HEAD presents new 2012 Squash YouTek™ Racquet line-up

January 10th, 2012

HEAD proudly presents its new line of squash racquets for 2012. The YouTek™ Innegra™ series combines the best features of the well-accepted YouTekTM umbrella concept and adds innovation by marrying the high performance materials d3o™ with HEAD's new Innegra™ fibre technology.

HEAD’s YouTek™ concept aims to provide players with the perfect racquet for their individual game. The YouTekTM Innegra series introduces the following racquets: the YouTek™ Xenon2 135, the YouTek™ Anion2 135 and the YouTek™ Cerium2 150; they complement the existing top-line YouTek™ Cyano2 115, the YouTek™ Neon2 130 and the YouTek™ Argon2 150 racquets, which will remain in the 2012 line-up. Whether squash players are looking for power or control in their racquet (or the right combination of both), for a head heavy or a head light racquet, the YouTek™ series offers the right weapon for any style of play.

HEAD Racquet rebels Karim Darwish and Laura Massaro will head into the 2012 season with a new improved version of the YouTek™ Xenon2 135. Darwish, the Egyptian World No. 3, had some injury problems at the beginning of the season but showed great performances at the end of the year and is eager for more success: “It is a great feeling to be back at the top of my game and the new Xenon will help me to further improve my game.” Massaro who was named Player of the Year recently at the World Squash Awards in the Dutch port city of Rotterdam said: “I am really happy with my achievements this season. HEAD took the performance of my weapon of choice to another level and I am really looking forward to the new season.”

The HEAD racquets play like no other, thanks to ground-breaking innovation. Innegra™ belongs to the lightest performance fibres in the world today. In combination with carbon fibre, Innegra™ forms an ultra-tough, hybrid-composite frame structure. The material, also used in Formula 1, offers improved stability and increased shock absorption.

d3o™, is a "smart material". The molecules of the inlay stay soft during slow hits and lock together on hard hits. d3o™ senses the needs of the play and adapts to the player, so it can provides maximum power and control on every shot.
