Unstoppable Djokovic Dethrones Nadal in Rome

HEAD racquet rebel Novak Djokovic will lead the field into the French Open after he claimed the prestigious trophy of the ATP Masters 1000 event at the Internazionali BNL d’Italie in Rome – already his 7th straight ATP title this season.

Djokovic, firing with his YouTek IG Speed MP, extended his 2011 winning streak to 37 matches with a 6-4, 6-4 defeat of World No. 1 Rafael Nadal. The world’s No. 2 Djokovic has now beaten five-time Rome winner Nadal for the fourth time in a Masters 1000 final this year - Indian Wells, Miami and Madrid last weekend on the Spaniard's home ground.

The winner came through on Novak’s fourth match point, after notching 26 winners and 32 unforced errors. "It was a real pleasure to play once more against a great champion like Rafa," said Djokovic. "This stadium is special for me; it's a Colosseum of tennis."

The men's quarter-finals in Rome were filled with HEAD players, with seven of eight playing HEAD racquets. Djokovic booked the Rome final with a dramatic win in three hours over fellow HEAD stable mate Andy Murray (YouTek Radical Pro) saving the match as the Scot served for it at 5-4 on the decisive set. Frenchman Richard Gasquet (YouTek IG Extreme Pro) also showed great performances throughout the week and reached the semi finals after winning against former World No. 1 Roger Federer.

Djokovic cannot take over the No. 1 spot in the ATP world rankings just yet, but is a clear favourite for Paris. Going into the French Open, the biggest question: can Novak ever be beaten again?
