HEAD’s newly developed Flexpoint racquets exceeds all the expectations once again.
Andre Agassi, HEAD’s No. 1 Partner, is on his best path preparing for the US Open, his big goal for the ongoing season. Just one week after winning his 60th tournament title, the American reached the final of the Rogers Cup at Montreal – the Canadian Stop on the Masters Series.
In this final, Agassi met the 19-year old new star from Spain, Rafael Nadal. After a battle of almost two hours, Agassi had to accept, that Nadal was the stronger player on that day. With 6:3, 4:6 and 6:3 he could win his third Masters title. But after the match, Agassi did not even seem close to announcing his retirement. ‘I’ll see you in two years,’ he said much to the delight of the crowd who were trying to encourage him all through the match. To his opponent, the 35-year old Agassi paid homage: ‘His placement on the court is so good. For those fast players who can run down shots and put balls back into play, they return a weak shot but Rafael is capable of sending back unstoppable shots!’
The match was interrupted by rain at the end of the first set and it looked like Agassi had a chance to win because he came out stronger once play resumed. ‘After the rain, I had a better idea of what to expect.’
It was the 22nd Master Series final and with Agassi participating, he was not too far away from winning his 18th title, which would have also been his forth Canadian Open title.
At the same time, Anastasia Myskina reached the final of a tournament which was her first since the Kremlin Cup in Moscow in October 2004. At the Nordea Nordic Light Open, she was fighting hard against No 5 seed, Katarina Sebrotnik. After losing the first set at 5:7, she missed her chance against the 24-year old Slovenian. ‘Even if I didn’t win I am very pleased about my visit here’, said Myskina. ‘I have had a wonderful week and everything has been perfect. Everybody has been so kind and helpful, and the audience has supported me throughout the tournament.’
‘I am sorry I beat you,’ said Sebrotnik, ‘but I wanted to win this one really badly.’
Andre Agassi, as well as Anastasia Myskina, are using HEAD’s newly developed Flexpoint Technology. Agassi plays with the Flexpoint.Radical Oversize and Myskina uses the Flexpoint Instinct.
