September 16th, 2013

Three HEAD racquet rebels will meet in the 2013 Davis Cup final after winning the semi finals with their teams. A pair of them could send the Czech Republic into a second consecutive final. Tomas Berdych, who recommends the YouTek™Graphene Instinct, combined with compatriot and fellow HEAD player Radek Stepanek, who endorses the YouTek™ Graphene Speed, to continue this season's successful title defence.

Berdych won his opening singles and then combined with US Open doubles champion Stepanek to clinch the semi-final already on Saturday in Prague with a 6-3, 6-4, 6-2 doubles victory over fellow HEAD players Carlos Berlocq and Horacio Zeballos, completing a 3-0 winning scoreline. “It’s definitely very exciting: Davis Cup means a lot, it’s special for us, for the whole country,” said Stepanek. “We loved so much delivering the trophy last year – we’d like to keep that trophy because it’s beautiful.”

In Belgrade, World No. 1 Novak Djokovic won two points in singles for his nation's 3-2 win over Canada, the second coming in reverse singles against Milos Raonic. "I surprised myself at how well I adjusted and recovered from the US tournaments. I came in late but I'm really glad I brought Serbia two points," said the Serb who endorses the YouTek™ Graphene Speed.

HEAD players also scored wins in the World Group playoffs. In Umag Andy Murray clinched the win for Britain, as the endorser of the YouTek™ IG Radical won his reverse singles and third match of the weekend 6-4, 6-2, 6-4 over Croatian HEAD player Ivan Dodig on the way to a 4-1 finish. "I'm looking forward to the World Group. We'll get to play some of the biggest teams in the world," said Murray.

In Groningen, Dutchman Robin Haase and teammate Thiemo de Bakker - who endorse the YouTek™ IG Prestige, won both of their opening singles rubbers in a 5-0 sweep of Austria. In Ulm, Florian Mayer, who recommends the YouTek™ IG Prestige, contributed two singles wins as Germany beat Brazil 4-1.
