HEAD racquet rebel Novak Djokovic claims ATP World No. 2 spot after US Open final

HEAD racquet rebel Novak Djokovic battled two days of rain delays and a tenacious opponent in Rafael Nadal, with the Serb mounting a stern challenge in his 4-6, 7-5, 4-6, 2-6 US Open finals loss to Nadal. The final which was finally started 24 hours late - and included a two-hour rain interruption in the second set - was the second for Djokovic at Flushing Meadows. The Serb (YouTek Speed MP) will return to second in the world on the ATP after his effort.

Djokovic managed five aces and 45 winners in his battle lasting three and three-quarter hours. The 2008 Australian Open champion stands 26-6 in New York. He reached the title match with an upset of five-time winner Roger Federer, saving two match points. "Maybe emotionally I was a little bit drained after the semi-final match, but I recovered. I had two days, and I was motivated to win this match. This is one of the matches where the opponent plays better than you, and you just have to congratulate him," said Djokovic.

"I don't think I played a bad match overall, it was a very good performance from my side. But he was the one who was playing just too good on this day."

HEAD's Wimbledon winner Yaroslava Shvedova from Kazakhstan teamed with American Vania King to win the pair's second straight Grand Slam women's doubles title, defeating second seeds Liezel Huber of the US and Russian Nadia Petrova 2-6, 6-4, 7-6 (7-4).

HEAD's Mikhail Youzhny (YouTek Extreme Pro) reached his second career semi-final in New York. "This year, I didn't show my really best tennis and I was in the semi-final. This is good. If I can show my really best tennis maybe I can do something more."
