Wimbledon semi-finalist Azarenka will now move on to the WTA Championships in Istanbul with supreme confidence after winning her eighth career title.

Murray claimed the trophy leading 6-4, 3-0, when Djokovic's sore shoulder forced him to retire. Maria Sharapova claimed her second season title by defeating Jelena Jankovic in three sets.
