HEAD racquet rebel Tomas Berdych from Czech Republic continued his great start into the 2012 season swinging his YouTek IG Instinct MP on the way to victories in singles and doubles which put his nation into the Davis Cup quarter-finals 4-1 over Italy.
The ATP No. 7 began the weekend with a defeat of HEAD fellow Simone Bolelli 6-3, 4-6, 7-5, 6-2 in opening singles, then combined with Radek Stepanek to clinch a winning 3-0 score line with doubles success, 6-3, 6-4, 6-2 over Daniele Bracciali and Potito Starace.
Berdych said that playing a tie at home in Ostrava was a joy: "It's always great to play at home, where we get such a great support. The crowd helps us so much. We used our experience to get this win.” He was particularly pleased in victory after the 2009 and 2010 semi-finalist nation lost in the first round of 2011 to Kazakhstan. "We showed the crowd we are strong again, that we are able to win matches."
Berdych prolonged his fantastic start into 2012 reaching the Australian Open quarter-finals and winning the ATP 250 event in Montpellier.
