Andy Murray aiming to return to No. 3 ATP after winning the Bangkok final

Andy Murray triumphed in a one-way battle as the world No. 4 crushed American Donald Young 6-2, 6-0 to win the Thailand Open. Murray, whose aim this season is to return to the No. 3 ATP ranking from his current fourth, needed just 47 minutes at the Impact arena at Bangkok, swinging his YouTek Radical Pro to his third trophy of the season after Queen's Club and the Cincinnati ATP Masters 1000 event.

Murray broke Young five times as he dominated, following two previous meetings (1-1) this season with the 22-year-old. "I played very well today, by far my best match of the tournament," said Murray. "I was able to take all of my opportunities, so it was a great match for me. Towards the end of the first set he started to play a bit better, but once I got up in the second I hardly made any mistakes.

Murray now stands 19-9 in career finals. "It's a very good start. I'm sure I'm going to have to win a lot more matches if I want to finish No. 3. That's the goal and I'll keep working hard to give myself a shot at doing that."

Murray improved to 45-11 this season and has won 16 of his last 17 matches.
