    HEAD racquet rebel Martin Klizan has made his first career title breakthrough defeating Fabio Fognini 6-2, 6-3 to win the St. Petersburg Open. The Slovakian used his YouTek IG Prestige MP to reach his career-high ranking of 33 in the ATP World Tour ranking. He is the first first-time winner on the ATP World Tour this season and the first Slovakian to win a tour title since 2004.

  • Tomas Berdych leads Czechs into Davis Cup final

    HEAD racquet rebel Tomas Berdych has powered his Czech Republic team into a second Davis Cup final in four years, scoring points on every day of the tie with Argentina in Buenos Aires. Sixth-ranked Berdych will lead his nation in the December 16-18 final at home against Spain. The Spaniards crushed the US 3-1 despite missing Rafael Nadal who is out of the game with a knee injury. Both of the semi-final ties were played using HEAD ATP balls.

    Top seed Novak Djokovic won a battle of HEAD racquet rebels as he beat Richard Gasquet 6-3, 6-2 to claim the Rogers Cup at Toronto, his 12th title at ATP Masters 1000 level. It took 61 minutes for the ATP No. 2 to dominate with his YouTek IG Speed MP over his rival, who was claiming a spot in the final with his brand new YouTek Extreme Pro 2.0. The Serb, who won the Australian Open to start the 2012 season, now owns 31 titles overall.

The 34-year-old concluded a tough tiebreak first set before he finally fell to Alexandr Dolgopolov 6-7(7), 6-4, 6-1. Haas did not drop a single set on the way to the final including a straight set win over No. 1 seed Mardy Fish in the semifinals.

Cilic complotted his victory run at home without losing a set and also gained revenge for the 2011 final which he lost to Alexandr Dolgopolov, with the Ukrainian player becoming Cilic’s semi-final victim.

  • Andy Murray writes Wimbledon history

    HEAD racquet rebel Andy Murray showed an incredible performance in his first Wimbledon final, adding himself to the Wimbledon history books despite his loss to Roger Federer. Murray was the first Briton to play a Wimbledon final since Bunny Austin in 1938 and had been hoping to become the first home winner since Fred Perry in 1936. Murray claimed the first set to level up the hopes of his home crowd but finally lost in four sets 6-4, 5-7, 3-6, 4-6 against the 30-year old from Switzerland, who had beaten Novak Djokovic in the semi-finals.
