HEAD Players Serve up Heat at Recent Tournaments

HEAD players enjoyed success at various tournaments this past weekend.

HEAD Player Arnaud Clement of France sailed past World No. 4 Novak Djokovic on his way to reach the semifinal round of the Artois Championships at Queen’s Club. After defeating Djokovic 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 with his HEAD Flexpoint Prestige MP, Clement came back to secure a 7-5, 6-4 victory over Croatian Ivo Karlovic.

Meanwhile, HEAD player Mark Knowles and his partner Daniel Nestor scored their second straight title in the doubles competition with a 7-6, (7-4), 7-5 victory over Bob and Mike Bryan. The win comes a week after the team earned their first French Open men’s doubles title at Roland Garros. Knowles wields the HEAD Flexpoint Prestige MP as his weapon of choice on the court.

HEAD player Julian Knowle and partner Simon Aspelin won the doubles title at the Gerry Weber Open in Halle against No. 2 seeds and fellow HEAD Players Nenad Zimonjic and Fabrice Santoro 6-4, 7-6. Knowle also helped Aspelin knock out No. 1 seeds Leander Paes and Martin Damm 3-6, 6-2, 6-10 with his HEAD Liquidmetal Prestige MP.

"I'm very happy with the way we've been playing since Hamburg,” said Knowle. “We beat two great teams this week in Damm/Paes and Santoro/Zimonjic. We were a little bit lucky with the deciding points, but to win a tournament sometimes you need a little luck."

Playing with her Flexpoint Radical MP, HEAD Player Virginie Razzano of France moved into the semifinal round of the Barcelona-KIA, beating Alla Kudryavtseva of Russia 6-1, 6-4.
