HEAD Players Enjoy Success at Tournaments around the World

HEAD player Marat Safin, of Russia, was defeated 6-4, 5-7, 6-4 in the final round of the 2006 Kremlin Cup by Davydenko Nikolay. Safin, currently ranked 49th on the ATP Tour, plays with the Head Flexpoint Prestige Mid. In addition HEAD player Igor Kunitsyn of Russia, who plays with Head Flexpoint Prestige MP, was defeated in the semifinals by Safin 6-4, 6-3.

In men’s doubles, HEAD players Fabrice Santoro of France and Nenad Zimonjic of Serbia, defeated Frantisek Cermak and Jaroslav Levinsky both of the Czech Republic, in two sets, winning the doubles championship. Santoro who plays with a Head Flexpoint Radical MP was also a semifinalist in men’s singles. Zimonjic plays with a Head Flexpoint Prestige Mid.

HEAD player Julian Knowle and partner Jurgen Melzer both of Austria, reached the doubles finals of the BA-CA Tennis Trophy Championship last week. Knowle, who plays with the Head Flexpoint Prestige Mid and Melzer were defeated 6-4, 3-6, 12-10 in a third set tie-breaker.
Meanwhile, at the Stockholm Open, HEAD player Robin Söderling, of Sweden, advanced while playing with Head Flexpoint Radical MP to the semifinals against James Blake of the U.S., losing in two sets 7-5, 7-6.
