HEAD Players Advance in U.S. Open

Playing with a HEAD Flexpoint Instinct racquet, Mikhail Youzhny of Russia advanced to the semifinal in the U.S. Open in Flushing, NY, and was defeated by Andy Roddick of the U.S. 6-7(5), 6-0, 7-6(3), 6-3. To advance to the semifinals, unseeded Youzhny upset second seeded Rafael Nadal 6-3, 5-7, 7-6 (5), 6-1.

At the U.S. Open Juniors Championship, HEAD player Tamira Paszek of Austria advanced to the Junior Girls finals with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Lauren Albanese of the U.S. Paszek, lost in the finals to Russia’s Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova with a tough 6-3, 4-6, 5-7 defeat. Junior Boys finalist, Canadian Peter Polansky, another HEAD player, defeated U.S. HEAD player Donald Young in a 6-3,6-7 (2), 6-3 match. Paszek trusts in her Liquidmetal Instinct and Young plays with a HEAD Flexpoint Radical Racquet. Polansky’s weapon of choice is the HEAD Flexpoint Prestige MP.
