HEAD Tennis Ball Bounces Into 2007 Season

February 6th, 2007

With its new line of tennis balls, the HEAD brand has received a great deal of positive attention recently, and will continue the streak into the 2007 season. Last year, HEAD gained praise from players across the board for the balls’ playability and edge on the court.

“Our newly introduced HEAD tennis balls have been received very well on a consumer level,” said Robert Marte, Division Manager, HEAD /Penn Racquet Sports. “The recently signed endorsements with Tournaments and Federations further highlight the positive momentum on the pro player’s level.”

The HEAD ATP Tennis Ball will be played in four of the eight first round World Group matches in the upcoming Davis Cup (Feb. 9-11), including Austria vs. Argentina, Belgium vs. Australia, Germany vs. Croatia, and Switzerland vs. Spain.

HEAD is also the official ball at the Tennis Europe Winter Cups by HEAD, Europe’s premier junior team tennis competition. The qualifying rounds of this prestigious event for Under 14s and Under 16s will take place during the weekends 9-11 Feb. and 16-18 Feb, with the final rounds taking place in Czech Republic, France and the Netherlands from 23rd to 25th Feb.
HEAD was also the official ball at the Tennis Europe Junior Tour Event “Les Petits As” in Tarbes, France.

Continuing the success with the ATP Tournaments, the HEAD ball inaugurated its indoor season last week at the PBZ Zagreb Indoors, followed by the Open 13 in Marseille. Moving back to clay courts in spring, in the beginning of April the HEAD ATP ball will be served at Valencia and will move on at the AMS tournaments in Monte Carlo, Rome and Hamburg.

Recognized as the best by professionals, HEAD is the official tennis ball of the ATP, ATP Masters Series and Tennis Masters Cup Shanghai.
