HEAD will remain a strong supporter of the Shanghai Rolex ATP Masters 1000 after signing a new three-year contract extension with Asia's most prestigious tennis event. The collaboration continues HEAD’s commitment to and support for Chinese tennis:
"We are proud to continue our partnership with the only ATP Masters 1000 event on the Asian continent”, said Robert Marte, Executive Vice President of HEAD Racquetsports, "and as the Official Ball supplier to both of the Chinese ATP tournaments, we are committed to play an active role in the future growth of the sport in this important market.” The HEAD ATP is also the official ball played at the China Open in Bejing, which just saw HEAD racquet rebel and World No.2 Novak Djokovic defend his title.
HEAD’s partnership with the Shanghai tournament has been ongoing since the metropolis served as venue for the 2002 ATP Tennis Masters Cup end-of-season final for the first time, and then repeated as host for the 2005-2008 editions. Since 2009, HEAD has been enthusiastically involved in the new Masters 1000 tournament hosted at Shanghai’s Qi Zhong stadium, which set records and sparked even more Chinese tennis interest during its successful first edition last October.
HEAD also provides the official balls at the ATP Masters 1000 events in Cincinnati, the Canadian cities of Toronto and Montreal, the American spring hard-court Masters in Indian Wells and Miami, the European event at Paris Bercy, as well as the BARCLAYS ATP World Tour Finals in London.
