Golden HEAD Ball Winner up-close at BARCLAYS ATP World Tour Finals

December 5th, 2011

Raquel Escudero Serrano from Almansa, Spain expanded her tennis experience after winning a trip to the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals in London in November as the winner in the Golden HEAD Ball competition 2011.

The 21-year-old law student, who is playing tennis several times a week since 2008, received VIP seats, roundtrip airfare, accommodation in the players' hotel for three nights and had the chance to hit some balls on the court at the O2 arena, where only the best 8 of the world’s tennis players are allowed to play.

Raquel claimed her victory by purchasing a can of HEAD ATP tennis balls in Deportes Amorós in Alicante.

The huge tennis fan has been guided in her appreciation of the sport by her boyfriend, who accompanied her on the trip of a lifetime to London. “At first, I thought it was a joke but when I realised it was real I got excited and phoned to my boyfriend and family to tell it", said the excited winner.

Racquel did get to watch thrilling matches at the O2 Arena in London from up-close, as the top eight finishers on the ATP World Tour battled at the season finale, with HEAD racquet rebels Novak Djokovic (World No. 1), British hope Andy Murray and Tomas Berdych.

"And it was really my dream to meet and greet one of the best tennis players of the world." Racquel said. And indeed, Novak Djokovic took the time during his practice session to say hello to Racquel and sign her giant HEAD ball.

The trip to London was the first exposure to live professional tennis for the lucky winner. “I'm so happy and I can only say thank you to HEAD for giving me this opportunity."

In addition to the grand prize, other contestants won over 1.000 attractive prizes such as HEAD racquets, bags, footwear, strings and of course HEAD ATP tennis balls.
