    HEAD Pros Serve Up the Competition at Recent Tournaments

    HEAD player Richard Gasquet earned a trip to the semifinals with his strong play at the AIG Japan Open Tennis Championships losing eventually to Juan Martin Del Porto 3-6, 6-4, 5-7.

    Along his way to the semifinals, Gasquet, who plays with a MicroGel Extreme Pro, defeated fellow HEAD player Rainer Schüttler in straight sets 6-3, 6-2.

    In doubles competition, HEAD player Mikhail Youzhny, who plays with a MicroGel Extreme Pro, and his partner Mischa Zverev captured the title after defeating the first- and second-seeded competition along the way. In the final match, Youzhny and Zverev defeated their opponents in straight sets 6-3, 6-4.

    Gasquet and Youzhny also participated in an autograph and photo session at HEAD’s event booth. Fans were excited to have the opportunity to meet two of HEAD’s top performers.

    At the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart, HEAD player Victoria Azarenka, who plays with a MicroGel Extreme Pro, reached the semifinals after defeating No. 4 seed Elena Dementieva and No. 8 seed Agnieska Radwanska along the way. In the semifinals, Azarenka lost to Nadia Petrova in straight sets 4-6, 4-6.

    In doubles competition, HEAD player Patty Schnyder, who uses a MicroGel Radical MP, and her partner Anna-Lena Groenefeld took home the title after dominating tournament play and defeating their opponents 6-2, 6-4.

    Fellow HEAD player Shuai Peng reached the semifinals at the Tashkent Open where she eventually lost a tough match to runner-up Sabine Lisicki 7-5, 3-6, 4-6.
