    HEAD Pros advance at recent tournaments

    HEAD player Gilles Simon advanced to the semifinals in Toronto. On his way he defeated World No. 1 Roger Federer with a 2-6, 7-5, 6-4 win. Simon, who plays with the MicroGel Prestige MP, eventually lost to German Nicolas Kiefer 7-6(4), 3-6, 6-7(5).

    After defeating Novak Djokovic and fellow HEAD player Stanislas Wawrinka, Andy Murray advanced to the semifinals of the Rogers Cup using his HEAD MicroGel Radical MP as his weapon of choice. Murray lost to eventual winner Rafael Nadal 6-7(2), 3-6.

    Meanwhile, in the doubles tournament, HEAD player Nenad Zimonjic, using a MicroGel Radical MP, and his doubles partner Daniel Nestor defeated top-seeded Americans Bob and Mike Bryan 6-2, 4-6, 10-6 to take home the Rogers Cup in Toronto. The win marks the third straight ATP doubles title for the team.

    Fellow HEAD player Anabel Medina Garrigues enjoyed a successful run at the Banka Koper Slovenia Open. Garrigues, who plays with the MicroGel Extreme MP, reached the final round of the singles tournament, eventually losing to No. 8 seed Sara Errani 3-6, 3-6.

    Garrigues went on to win the title in the doubles championship with partner Ruano Pascual, defeating Russian pair Vera Dushevina and Ekaterina Makarova 6-4, 6-1.
