    HEAD Pros Advance at Recent Tournaments

    HEAD player Marat Safin earned a trip to the finals at the Kremlin Cup in Moscow thanks to his strong play throughout the week. Safin, who plays with a MicroGel Prestige Mid, lost a tough battle in the final match against Igor Kunitsyn 6-7(6), 7-6(4), 3-6.

    Along his way to the finals, Safin defeated No. 1 seed Nikolay Davidenko 6-4, 0-6, 6-2.

    “It was a hard-fought match,” said Safin. “I felt that I played a good game and made some tough shots, but it just didn’t come together for me in the end.”

    Also in singles competition, HEAD player Fabrice Santoro, who plays with a MicroGel Radical MP, gained momentum by reaching the semifinals where he lost against eventual winner Kunitsyn 4-6, 3-6.

    At the IF Stockholm Open, HEAD player Robin Soederling, who plays with a MicroGel Radical MP, reached the final round of competition losing to top-seeded David Nalbandian 2-6, 7-5, 3-6. Soederling also faced fellow HEAD player and No. 5 seed Rainer Schuettler defeating him in straight sets 6-2, 7-5.
