"Deutsche Tennis Zeitung" Names YOUTEK Speed Pro Most Accurate Tournament Racquet

    September 23rd, 2009

In the toughest racquet test conducted to-date by the German magazine, Deutsche Tennis Zeitung, the YOUTEK Speed Pro came out on top, ranking No. 1 amongst other racquet brands for its thin and heavy frame.

The weapon of choice for World No.4 Novak Djokovic, the YOUTEK Speed Pro received the best combined point scores out of the 10 point scale, receiving 8.7 points. Testers praised the racquet’s stability, control and overall power.

“We are extremely pleased with the results of the YOUTEK Speed Pro,” said Robert Marte, Executive Vice President of the Racquetsports Division. “Being named most accurate showcases the superior technology of YOUTEK and affirms its performance abilities amongst all types of tennis players.”

This year the magazine heightened the test criteria and the point evaluation to help determine a clear winner between points and evaluations. Racquets were rated on 10 point scale and testers were allowed more freedom in the grading process. Additionally, none of the racquet grade results were omitted like in previous testings.

Also ranked in the top 3 with a result of 7.9 points, the YOUTEK Radical Pro was recognized for its bigger head size and open string bed. The racquet scored strong amongst testers for its power and handling.

The Speed Pro series incorporates HEAD’s newest technology, YOUTEK, into the frame. The technology infuses d3o, a “smart material” made from specially designed molecules that “lock together” upon racquet impact. Located in the shaft of the racquet, d3o reacts to the needs of a player in nano seconds, providing a softer touch and better feel to slow hits and increased stiffness necessary to create power behind fast strokes. In addition to d3oTM, the racquet series introduces Teflon® grommets by DuPont which create a bigger “sweet spot” across the string bed.
