Golden HEAD Ball Winner 2010 gets on court with Novak Djokovic

July 29th, 2010

Certified public accountant and Certified Tennis Fanatic Fernando Cadilla Sousa will get a chance to put the spreadsheets to the side after winning an elite practise session with HEAD racquet rebel Novak Djokovic. The 28-year-old Sousa from Buenos Aires, Argentina earned the chance to "Win & Play" with World No. 2 Novak Djokovic thanks to his participation in the Golden HEAD Ball campaign 2010.

His Grand Prize will include attendance at an exclusive training day with Novak Djokovic and two VIP tickets for the ATP World Tour Tournament in Dubai, roundtrip airfare and stay in the players' hotel. It will be the chance for Sousa to experience the drama and thrills of the ATP World Tour from a closest possible vantage point after attending the ATP Buenos Aires event and watching several Davis Cup ties in his hometown.

"I don't even think I'll be able to touch his serve (from Djokovic)," said the lucky South American who enjoys not only tennis but also football and kite surfing. "I've been playing tennis since age nine. I took lessons, played with friends and my father and took part in some club tournaments."

Sousa, who admits to a fascination not only with Djokovic but others on the ATP World Tour, is keen to learn exactly how a top professional approaches training sessions. "I want to know practising physically and mentally: what kind of exercises is he doing, how often is he practising in a week and how many hours. I'd like to talk with Novak in general about his life as tennis pro. I think that I can be physically prepared for this special training session." Nevertheless, Sousa will make sure he is at the top of his own game before mixing it up with HEAD's super-player. "Over the next few months I'll be training a lot for this special moment."

His dream of getting on court with Novak Djokovic is hugely exciting. "It's unbelievable how lucky I am!! This will be an awesome experience!" Sousa purchased the winning can of HEAD ATP tennis balls at the local Hector Tenis store and prefers this ball for its high durability and great playability.

This was the third Golden HEAD Ball competition and about 25,000 tennis fans from all over the world participated - either by buying balls, by participating directly on the Internet or by sending postcards. More than 1,000 of the participants won prizes, such as HEAD racquets, bags, balls, footwear, strings or and of course HEAD ATP tennis balls.
