Biography
The "Herminator" from Flachau. Passion, perseverance, determination, the will to win - terms that are inextricably linked with the name Hermann Maier. And natural wit as well as a certain shrewdness. These are all qualities that have made him a phenomenon, a household name and the Herminator in the course of his sporting career, quite apart from setting records, winning medals and crystal globes." This text on his website describes well what distinguishes him as an exceptional athlete. His successes: Olympic champion twice, world champion three times, overall World Cup winner four times, 54 World Cup victories. But Hermann Maier became a living legend after a serious motorcycle accident that left him fighting for his life in 2001. Nevertheless, he still fought his way back to the top - with passion, perseverance, determination and the will to win. And was awarded the Laureus World Sports Award in the category "Comeback of the Year" in 2004. And with it the Herminator was born.
