Biography
"Vinc" firmly at the top of the speed world. Vincent Kriechmayr has attracted more and more attention in recent years as a member of the Austrian speed discipline team. The Upper Austrian athlete celebrated his first World Cup victory in December 2017 in the Super-G in Beaver Creek. Since then he has bagged five more World Cup victories, three in Super-G and two in Downhill. A highlight was his victory on the classic Lauberhorn Downhill run in Wengen in 2019 and in the Super-G in front of his home crowd in Hinterstoder in 2020. In 2019 he also won a Silver and a Bronze medal at the Ski World Championships in Aare. Vincent’s name was chosen by his mother, an art history teacher from Belgium who especially loves the work of the impressionist painter Vincent van Gogh. In his spare time, "Vinc" helps out at his parents' farm. He finds working in the stables or with the cattle in the fields, a calming respite from the battle on the slopes.
