Wendy Holdener grabs podium finish in the Slalom for the 25th time

First podium finish for Wendy Holdener this season. The Swiss athlete finished third in the Night Slalom in Flachau on Tuesday. It was the 27-year-old's 25th podium finish in the Slalom. Camille Rast finishing in sixth place was also impressive. Wendy Holdener's compatriot scored her first World Cup points in the Slalom with bib number 57.

"I was already extremely happy on the first run that I was competing with the leaders again. I'm skiing better and better now, and I'm very happy. That's something I can build on. It gives me back my confidence and coolness," said a happy Wendy Holdener, who started the second run in second place.

"That was very important for Wendy. The past few weeks have been a bit of a struggle. Her performance was super," said HEAD Racing Director, Rainer Salzgeber. "She needed this result to regain her cool. And it shows that she is very fast again. Camille Rast's sixth place was absolutely incredible. She is one of our newcomers in Switzerland, has had to cope with injuries and now has a new service man. The way she skied was really good."

First World Cup points in the Slalom also for AJ Hurt

Lena Dürr from Germany finished in 11th place, Sara Hector from Sweden 14th, Maria Therese Tviberg from Norway 15th and AJ Hurt from the USA 29th. For AJ Hurt, it was her first World Cup points in the Slalom in only her second competition in this discipline.

"AJ Hurt has now bagged points in four disciplines. That is proof that you should never give up. She is developing into a very fast skier," explained Rainer Salzgeber.
