Super-G-Dreifachsieg durch Gut-Behrami, Lie und Gagnon

Beeindruckendes Ergebnis für die HEAD World Cup Rebels beim ersten Super-G in Garmisch-Partenkirchen am Samstag: Dritter Sieg von Lara Gut-Behrami in dieser Disziplin in Folge – vor ihren Markenkolleginnen Kajsa Vickhoff Lie aus Norwegen und Marie-Michele Gagnon aus Kanada. Bei dem auf Montag verschobenen zweiten Super-G in Garmisch-Partenkirchen legte Lara Gut-Behrami gleich den nächsten Sieg nach.

Lara Gut-Behrami ist im Super-G derzeit eine Klasse für sich. Nach St. Anton und Crans Montana feierte die Schweizerin in Garmisch-Partenkirchen den dritten und vierten vollen Super-G-Erfolg in Serie. Kajsa Vickhoff Lie fuhr am Samstag erstmals in ihrer Karriere auf ein Weltcup-Podium. Für Marie-Michele Gagnon war es der erste Podestplatz im Super-G und ihr erstes Resultat unter den besten Drei seit ihrem Kombinationserfolg in Soldeu im Februar 2016.

Der zweite Super-G in Garmisch-Partenkirchen wurde wegen Nebels von Sonntag auf Montag verlegt. Auch bei diesem Rennen war Lara Gut-Behrami nicht zu schlagen. Kajsa Vickhoff Lie verpasste als Vierte knapp das Podium, Corinne Suter wurde Fünfte. Im Super-G-Weltcup hat Lara Gut-Behrami nach fünf von sieben Rennen 195 Punkte Vorsprung auf Corinne Suter.

"On Saturday it was the perfect outcome for us, with HEAD skis all over the podium, and Monday was also excellent," said HEAD Racing Director Rainer Salzgeber. "Lara Gut-Behrami really is in top form and has certainly earned a break now before the World Championships. Kajsa Vickhoff Lie has arrived at the top. And Marie-Michele Gagnon is cool. She skied with HEAD while she was still at school and returned to us for the start of this season. It's great that she's very happy working with us. Things are looking pretty good for the women's World Cup right now. One or two can step the pace up a bit maybe, but otherwise it looks as though things could go well in Cortina."

In the men's competition, there were two Slaloms on the schedule in Chamonix this weekend. In both events, Alexis Pinturault finished eighth as the fastest HEAD athlete. In the overall World Cup, the French athlete has now notched up 924 points to put him 258 points in front of his nearest rival, Marco Schwarz.
