ARTURO COELLO BECOMES THE YOUNGEST NO.1 MEN’S PADEL PLAYER IN HISTORY

Arturo has broken the record and climbed to the pinnacle of world padel at just 21 years, 2 months and 21 days old.

Arturo is the player of the future today. He’s got it all and can do anything. At just 21 years, 2 months and 21 days old, he has become the youngest padel player ever to reach men’s No.1. This stunning achievement has led him to break Fernando Belasteguín’s record, who happens to have a long and fruitful association with HEAD.

In the eyes of an ecstatic Arturo Coello, the new men’s No.1, it was time to remember his loved ones: “Today is a historic day for me and everyone who has been by my side this whole time, especially my family who has always supported me. Being No.1 is a dream come true, although it is the product of lots of hard work and sacrifice”. He also looked back on his career and added: “When I started playing as a kid I hoped to rise to the top, and now this has come true. I really couldn’t be any happier. Today is a big day. Thank you everyone for your faith in me”.

Known as ‘King Arturo’, he is one of the world’s most incredible padel players, and currently recommends the Delta Pro racquet. Standing 6′3, this left-hander has fully mastered the game and is able to pull out a wide variety of shots, already hailed as one of greats of this sport.

His career on the World Padel Tour has been astounding. During his first year on tour in 2019 at the age of 17, his pulverising forehand shot him through to the main draw of both the Marbella Master and Valladolid Master.

The following year Arturo unleashed his game at the 20x10 and became a feared opponent at the quarter finals of the Estrella Damm Open, Valencia Open, Barcelona Master and Menorca Open, and other tournaments. At the end of the year Arturo was named Padel Spain’s Newcomer of the Year at the World Padel Awards 2020.

In 2021 he skyrocketed up the rankings finishing as the year-end No. 15 on the men’s tour, qualifying for the Master Final. In 2022 he won three tournaments: Miami, becoming the youngest player in history to win a WPT tournament, Amsterdam, and the Madrid Master, establishing himself as one of the up-and-coming stars. Although his best padel would come in 2023, with a stellar string of titles to start the year: Abu Dhabi, La Rioja (Argentina), Chile, Paraguay, Granada, Brussels, Vigo and Vienna.

His road to becoming a legend starts here and now, at just 21! We will not be taking our eyes off this star, as he’s really got people talking.

On behalf of the entire HEAD team: A big, big congratulations, Arturo!
