Biography

Squamish, BC, is known to many thrill seeking Canadians as an outdoor action sport-seekers dream. The town that sits just under an hour drive North of Vancouver is now home to Canadian skier Jordy Kinder, who moved there consistently in a search for new terrain in the coastal mountains. Jordy was born and raised in outside of Calgary in Canmore, Alberta, where he and his family spent as much time as possible outdoors. Jordy skied with the Rocky Mountain Freeriders, a team of amateur elite skiers based out of Lake Louise, every weekend growing up. Following the Junior IFSA competitions throughout the winter months, Jordy travelled and skied as much as possible. “Wrangle the Chute” at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort was one competition Jordy was sure to never miss! He finished on the podium twice, once in 2014, and again in 2015. In 2016, Jordy was the Junior Freeski Overall Champion of the IFSA circuit in British Columbia. No longer a junior, Jordy moved to Revelstoke, BC, with 4 friends at age 18 searching for something new. During his 4 years living in Revelstoke, Jordy and his friends all bought snowmobiles, and learned the ways of filming ski parts in the backcountry. A major highlight was filming The Acres Movies, a web series exploring the Revelstoke backcountry. Other career highlights so far for Jordy include being nominated for the IF3 (International Freeski Film Festival) Discovery of the Year 2018, as well as filming segments for Blank Collective Films. Jordy started filming for Blank Collective in 2016, and has been filming with them ever since.
