Performing with the best in the world. In the 2020/21 season, Atle Lie McGrath finally made his breakthrough. The Norwegian athlete raced to second place in the World Cup Giant Slalom in Alta Badia with bib number 29. Even though he had to end last season prematurely due to a ligament strain, he didn't let it hold him back. Atle Lie McGrath celebrated his first two World Cup victories during the 2021/22 season: on March 9 at the Slalom in Flachau and on March 20 at the Slalom in Meribel. His performance in the 2019/20 European Cup season was also impressive: he won the overall ranking, was first in the Giant Slalom ranking, second in the Slalom ranking, second in the Combined event ranking and fourth in the Super-G ranking. At the World Junior Championships in 2019, Atle Lie McGrath took silver in the Combined event. He was born into skiing: his father Felix McGrath competed in the World Cup for the USA from 1984 to 1990, and his mother Selma Lie competed in cross-country skiing.
