Biography
Matthieu Bailet was born in Nice, a location that is not really predestined to pave the way for a young man to become one of the top skiers in the speed disciplines. Even though the sea was closer to him than the mountains to begin with, the French athlete has nevertheless made it: his second place in the Super-G in Saalbach-Hinterglemm in March 2021 put him well and truly among the skiing elite. He joined the HEAD Worldcup Rebels in the summer of 2022. With his new skis, Matthieu Bailet, who is a member of the Inter Club Nice ski club, now wants to finally make the breakthrough. He has already bagged one Gold medal: Matthieu Bailet stood on top of the podium in the Super-G at the 2016 Junior World Championships in Sochi. His sister Margot, who is six years older, competed in the Ski World Cup until 2019.
