Biography

In love with Freeskiing since the age of 16 Sandra Eie tried out many sports when she was young, but at 16 the Norwegian found the discipline she excels at and fell deeply in love with freeskiing. Having competed at a number of events in her home country, she was 18 when she went to the Junior World Championships in Chiesa in Valmalenco, where she finished fourth in Slopestyle, just missing out on a medal. Then in 2015 she won the Silver medal in Slopestyle at the Junior World Championships at the same location. Sandra Eie went on to celebrate two European Cup victories in Slopestyle in Kaprun and made her World Cup debut in Slopestyle in Font-Romeu on 23 December 2017. The first podium finish in the World Cup followed in October 2022 with second place in the Big Air event in Chur. Her greatest success to date came in March 2023 at the World Championships in Bakuriani, when she won the Silver medal in Big Air. "Freeskiing challenges me in many ways and brings out different emotions in me that help me grow as a person every day," says the Norwegian athlete from Asker, whose favourite ski is the Oblivion 81. In her free time she enjoys travelling and playing golf and squash.
