Conny Prasser - the Ice Iron Woman in WIZ!

Conny Prasser - the Ice Iron Woman in WIZ!

Every year, the World Open Water Swimming Association (WOWSA) publishes a list of the World’s 50 Most Adventurous Women, featuring 50 “audacious women who have performed courageously well in open bodies of water”.

Conny Prasse is one of them! Perhaps because she can swim an Ice mile at 4.4° in 40 minutes, or an Ice kilometre in 16 minutes!

On 16th February 2019, she finished 2nd in the Ice Kilometer race in 4.6°C in the water and 8°C out of the water in Freizeitverein Altenwörth in Altenwörth, Austria.

Would you like to know what kind of equipment she uses for such extreme performances? Never a wetsuit! She has more freedom of movement using the Liquidfire WIZ racing swimsuit with closed back! She wears a simple silicone swim cap by HEAD and Tiger Race Liquidskin goggles!

When would she use a wetsuit? In open water marathon swimming, in the summer, when it’s allowed by the competition!

According to Conny, she was nominated because she is one of 7 women who have finished an ice mile and an Ironman, for this reason they are called "Ice Iron Women"!

In this period of the year she is training for the winter championships. Her first 2020 race will be the "Ice Swimming German Open" on January 5th, in the 50m and 200m freestyle.

The main race will be the Winter Swimming World Championchips in Bled (Slovenia) 3rd-9th February, in the 50, 100, 200, 450 and 1,000m freestyle and 200m breaststroke.
